Applications Are Open for Fall 2027
We're excited to announce that the application window is opening for the Fall 2027 cohort of the Master of Arts in Interaction Design and Interactive Art at Cal State East Bay.
The priority application period runs from October 1 through November 30, 2026. Bidding for early review is highly recommended.
Each year we admit a cohort of 12–15 graduate students who bring diverse backgrounds in design, art, computer science, psychology, and beyond. If you've been thinking about graduate school in interaction design—this is your cycle.
What Makes the IxDIA Program Different
The MA IxDIA is an interdisciplinary STEM-designated graduate program (CIP 09.0702) that combines UX/UI design, human-centered design, interactive art, computer science, and psychology in a single cohesive experience.
You'll learn in small classes with direct faculty mentorship, produce a portfolio-ready thesis project, and have access to a dedicated studio with 24-hour access—plus a maker space with a 60-watt laser cutter, 3D printers, a woodshop, and a full bronze foundry.
